A new community youth center for the municipality of Nuevo San Juan Chamula in Chiapas, Mexico.

Through surveys, and workshops with the youth of the community and an active process of participatory design, this initiative was created to erect, with funds from NGOs, Mexican and Swiss, a community youth center, which houses various artistic and scientific activities for the indigenous youth from the community.

A building with oblique floors, with circular patios that serve as outdoor Greek theaters for different activities, reinforced concrete is complemented with local carpentry work, classrooms of different sizes host the different activities of the building. The building respects the existing vegetation without the need to cut down a single tree for its construction. Wooden lattices allow adequate natural ventilation of the spaces.
